The Importance of Purpose
A lot of the time, our desires are very strong. We feel extreme passion. And those desires kind of win out to practice this sort of short term thinking where the immediate short term passion is what dictates how we behave. You're supposed to be leading yourself with your mind with your connection to the logos, and tall logistic on, but in fact, you're being held captive by all these desires. So this is obviously a state of vice, right? We're describing here the opposite of virtue.
