The Importance of Special Issues in Journals
A number of Hindawi journals in particular which is again a subgroup of Wiley unfortunately but they were really expanding the number of special issues massively. They had articles in there that were even worse than the ones in the Journal of Community Psychology and so I invented a term for some of them which was AI Gobbledygoot. These things were at scale I mean we're talking about literally sometimes more than a hundred such papers in a special issue with a particular editor. It's going to get worse as artificial intelligence gets worse and it's easy to generate papers that don't look as crazy as others, he says.
