Satire with Pola Oloixarac
Literary Friction
Is All Writing Is Drag?
Paula is fascinated by the extra power that you have writing as a woman since phallic power is endless because it's symbolic like. Mona so clearly wants to be herself but especially when she arrives at a college campus in America or a literary festival she becomes a Latin American writer and kind of has to act out that persona and she plays it sometimes willingly and sometimes less willingly. So this novel amongst many other things has a lot of just very funny observations about the literary world and how it really fetishizes identity. I'm gonna get a tattoo on my butt.
