The History of the Black Gangster Disciples
David Barksdale and Larry Hoover were trying to promote a type of, you know, black consciousness within the 60s. They were trying to also create a kind of black nationalist and that's why they sort of unified with one another. Now David Barksdale died around 1970, I believe he died somewhere around 1976. He had got injured in 1968 from a assassination attempt by a black stone, black feast stone. And this eventually called up to him and he died. Larry Hoover around the same period and also around previously earlier, Jeff Fort went to prison and this created kind of a gulf between all of the different factions. It just sort of calls this different fracturing of the gangs
