The Supreme Court ruled that Title 42 was to remain in effect until there was an official declaration essentially of the end of the pandemic. Republicans on Capitol Hill have been eager to get that, especially because they've wanted COVID-era vaccination requirements and travel restrictions rolled back. The Biden administration is pretty worried about this. They're estimating that there could be as many as 10,000 people coming across a day,. which is a huge logistical challenge for everybody at the border.
