Can Petroleum Help Calm the Ocean?
Hank: Does petroleum have the same properties that can help calm waves? And if so, will all o these oil spills actually help reduce the volatility o the ocean and reduce the severity of hurricanes? Chelsea: Would we need to spill a whole heck of a lot of oil and cause ta whole set of other problems? Hank: Yea, we would. It doesn't tend to be the waves that cause the big problems anyway. It's more that the the water level increases with a storm surge.
