Aristotle and Plato - Is There a Future for Philosophy?
For the ancients, it's quite difficult to think for Aristotle to start talking about what it would mean to give everybody time. In that kind of world, it's much harder to imagine these science fiction utopias than it is for us. And perhaps that's why it didn't seem to have occurred to Aristotle or Plato that someday people could have the choice. For them, it's just inevitable that you need slavery in order to have philosophy.
