The History of Breastfeeding
There is a lot of imagery going back further where we get maybe a glimpse of what it might have looked like in everyday life. We've got figures from, for example, 14th century Thailand. It's this whole series of beautiful ceramic images of mothers and babies. They look like they're just sort of chilling out. And my absolute favorite,. which I have to mention is the sixth century bronze from Indonesia. Of a woman sitting very upright with her legs out, straight in front of her. She's obviously a weaver. Obviously she's at work. The baby is probably tweaking your other nipple if it can. So we get this really lovely detail. It's very kind of life
