The Importance of Eye Color in Storytelling
The ice cream cone allowed you to see everything about that character. Most teachers of writing, especially in the younger grades, view better writing as more writing. Eye color is exceptionally important but most of the time it's irrelevant. Even in the history of the universe, has anyone ever finished a novel and thought, God, I wish there were more details in that novel? In fact, what we know is the fewer words you can use to tell your story, it's probably the best version of that story.
