The Macintosh Mouse
Raskin didn't want to use a mouse on the Mac because it complicated the computer. A keyboard is literally just a digital version of that very well-known machine. The early Macintosh was also intended as an easily programmable machine. Some commands would be typed in certain places, while other controls were handled by keystrokes and special buttons.
