For every 60 pounds you put into your pension, the government effectively grosses it up to 100. You can also carry forward the last three years of unused allowance so that's incredibly powerful too. The actual money you have to save is probably quite a lot lower than 375,000 figure we just said. And if you are going to be putting more into the pension, which isn't a bad idea, it's a great idea.
