Despite and Even Though

Despite and in spite mean the same as, although and even though. But they are also used to link and contrast surprising or unexpected ideas. They can go at the beginning or in the middle of a sentence. Or we can use the word however, like this. Dean and i were the best of friends, but sometimes we disagreed.
