I like Steely Dan quite a lot, but it always felt like music made by robots pretending to be human. Do people say that about your music? I think they say that about me. Deacon Blues is one of the most heart wrenching soulful songs ever about a guy who's contemplating suicide,. You know, synchronicity. They were aspiring toward that sort of almost digital perfection using analog equipment.
