The Different Approaches to East and Southeast Asian Studies
In many ways it would be universal, but area studies is different than disciplinary studies. In a way it's a different way of looking at things and that does affect how things are published. A country if you think of a country like Thailand to understand it requires using your senses and many different ways. So in that way I would argue that the area studies publishing has the potential to call on a whole lot of different approaches.
