At eight months, Jackie went into labor. Patrick Bouvier Kennedy was delivered by another emergency C section. Unfortunately, while most of him was healthy, his lungs weren't functioning. Today they give them something called surfactant and it would kind of work as a lubricant to get them functioning properly. That wasn't the case back then.
