Cardinal Whirl Left Office Under a Cloud
Cardinal Whirl left office under a cloud. He appeared to have, uh, information and in some cases, allegations regarding Theodore McCarrick at different times in his Episcopal career. But there was no suggestion that he failed to act on the contrary. In fact, he knew about it and he did not want it to seem as if he had manifested to the Holy See or to the Apostolic Nune too, various concerns about McCarrick and that nothing had been done.
