The Story of Uncle Thune Amorakosly
Amorakosly married Dr. Hassan Al-Hefnawi in her late 50s, and he was about a decade younger. She suffered from severe inflammation of the eyes due to near constant exposure to bright stage lights. Uncle Thune flew to the US to get treatment but only had to stop performing for a few weeks. Other than scale back on performing, Uncle Thune began wearing rhinestone-rimmed sunglasses on stage. They became her signature look.
