The history of rum is closely tied to colonialism in empire. In the 18th and 19th centuries, molasses were produced from sugar plantations. Rum has a very dark and complicated heritage. We're well aware that wealth was built off the back of the transatlantic slave trade. But it's something that we can constantly revisit - you don't want it to be hidden.
