Introduction

Explorers explores the life of Spanish conquistador Vasco Núñez de Balboa. In 1512, Balboa received word about a powerful casica who lived up the coast. Carretta's village was supposedly overflowing with gold and reportedly commanded over 2,000 warriors. The chieftain would be baptized into the Christian faith, and he would even give Balboa one of his daughters as a gift.
