The Negro Leagues

A lot of people, even people who would have considered themselves serious baseball fans were not well informed about the Negro leagues. I think that really kind of helped open people's eyes to what's been happening in this country when it comes down to black issues. It must have seemed like rich, vibrant living history because of the connection that you had to your dad and the connection that he had to it. But also you grew up. Right. So I don't know whether that made them seem less like legend. Less like legends because you knew them as human beings or whether it connected you more to that history. Yeah, it definitely did.
