Southwest Elementary Jennifer and Dion Longworth Memorial Award

Mark Leonard was found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and received an additional 50 years on top of his life sentences. He lodged numerous appeals, but each was rejected. In late January 2018, Mark was transferred to hospital to undergo treatment for his autoimmune disease. On January 30, the Indiana Department of Corrections released a statement announcing that he had died of natural causes. A scholarship titled the Southwest Elementary Jennifer and Dion Longworth Memorial Award has been established in their memory.
