There are at least some signs that the court is pulling back from using the shadow docket so aggressively. In this voting rights act case, Justice Kavanaugh voted not to require Alabama to create a second majority black district because it was too close to an election. Some of us thought by doing that he was signaling that ultimately he was going to be on Alabama's side. When the court eventually decided the case it was a bit of a surprise. After the break they call it the High Court but Americans opinion of it not so high. Involutes by the pallet giving her more time to collect teeth.
The US Supreme Court is wrapping up yet another eventful term, with decisions in major cases that will have a lasting impact on Americans’ lives. Bloomberg’s Greg Stohr and Zoe Tillman join this episode to talk about how in recent years, the high court has become more willing to assert its power and enhance its role among the three branches of government. At the same time, ethics controversies and rising public perception that the justices are sometimes overtly political have lowered confidence in the court.
