Alkenev: "I have a mixed reaction because I don't want to penalize studios for trying to experiment in this space or trying to do something" Warner Brothers has been doing a lot of this stuff, including partnerships with Funko and Batcal. Alkenev worked for a studio that was a big YouTube aggregator. But they didn't try to replicate the business. They just waited for someone to do it and get to a scale.
