The New York Times was widely acknowledged by its colleagues to be a Nazi sympathizer. Its reporting was so favorable to the Nazis that German officials would read his reports aloud on Nazi radio broadcasts without editing them. The problem is that when you get so wrapped up with being number one, "you lose sight of all other values," says David Frum.
