The Importance of a Father Daughter Relationship
My parents have always treated us like these intellectual equals. They've always talked to us, you know, like we had something important to contribute or whatever. So there was a be ability to come to the table and I wanted to talk about specific things that happen in the church but there's no satisfying way to do that where it doesn't become personalized. My dad can talk about the problems with the church from a very apologetic slant though. His interactions with me are now much more defensive. And there's no way to separate the church from the family existence because the church represented the family.
