The Scopes Trial and the Evolution of Creation
In the early 20th century, there was a very famous trial called the Scopes Trial. It concerned a statute in Tennessee that forbade the teaching of Darwinian evolution in any of its public institutions, including universities. And so what arose during this period is roughly between the 1940s to today, that world of evangelicalism began creating colleges and universities.
