Do We Know That We Are of Israel?

Do we know that we are of israel? Have we made that clear? Or have our ancestors? I am so grateful to be able to look back at my family history and see evidence of people building the kingdom. But these poor people couldn't, couldn't make those connections. They didn't know who were. The first group would ask this group: Do i have right to priesthood? Am i a levite or not? I don't know. And in the absence, i can't act as if i were one.
