The Rise and Fall of the NSA and Homeland Security

After September 11, 2001 the Bush administration introduced a program called total information awareness. When word of this got out the American public freaked out and said absolutely not we are not going to allow anything like this. Nothing really happened. There weren't large congressional investigations. No new firewalls were put in place. As far as we know every one of these programs has continued to grow under a veil of secrecy.
