I think trying to put realism in musicals is sort of a fruitless effort. The whole world feels like a dream and no one's behaviour really makes sense when this one is kind of grounded in reality. And every thing about the adaptation here that i i've had problems with the original with and i have the same problem carry over here as well, is that it feels like the movie is building up to the rumble.
