An Interview With Joe Singh

Joe Chinkwei met Anu Singh in 1995 at a night out with his mates. She had just completed a Bachelor of Economics and was studying law in Canberra. The couple began dating after she broke up with her long-term boyfriend. Joe would fly to Canberra every week to take care of Anu when she was unwell. They kept their relationship secret from Anu's parents, who wanted her to remain single while she completed her studies. In September 1996, Joe permanently relocated to Canberra to live with Anu.
