Multipolarity Is a Great Barrier to War and Wars of Aggression
If you are caught in the middle between these two powers, for the most part, you are not going to be subjected to the same levels of aggression that you would otherwise. Haite: It's not a coincidence that decolonization was not successful until the rise of a new socialist pull. Without that external support, probably those resistance movements wouldn't have succeeded against european colonialism. But I'm denying the importance of local agency or whatever - let's be real.
