Is There a Prison of Illusion?

i'm trying to reconcile these things and to say, hey, there's all sorts of benefits to a healthy sense of individuality. And then there's a time where that can become calcified, and then becomes a prison of its own. So the question is, rather than saying, oh, we miss the mark and we need to go backwards, right? We need backwards to being hunter gatherers, or, like, the agrarian revolutionis where it all went tits up. That's acually how i ended up studying historical anthropology in grad school. It was my entire academic career. E was back tracking to try and figure out where did we go off the rails?
