The Politics of Land and Independence
Many of the people who I focus on throughout the book, they believed in integration, at least to some degree, and at least some points in their lives. They started to develop critiques of how powers distributed by the system, by white supremacists, capitalists, and imperialist system that they were living under. At the same time, Gaideo Baddelli was seeing people who he went to school with, who worked within the Encruma government in Ghana; these experiences helped him become more critical of integration. And so, at least by 1968, self-determination was the better out.
