Are Children a Model for Intelligence?
A small chemical change, at least by report, can lead people to have very large changes in the ways that they see the universe. So one of my slogans is that you could think about psychedelics as doing for the individual what childhood does for the culture. Children might be a model for intelligence that's different from the models of intelligence that we currently have. And finally, I think thinking in this kind of life history perspective that having a long childhood and a lot of caregiving is that our conceptions of moral relations, I think, change too when you think about it that way.
