John Updike's Pigeon Feathers
John Updike's "Pigeon feathers" is one of the greatest short stories of the 20th century. In it, a young boy wants to be reassured that everything he hears every Lord's Day is not just myth. The pastor cannot affirm that because he doesn't believe Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead. This H.C. Wells story almost has a nation like conclusion in regard to God's existence and creation.
