Is There a Way to Make Independent Work Harder?

Upwork projects that in the next decade, about half of the workforce could be independent workers. Upwork: Current tax law is just simply not designed for an independent work environment. We're not asking and we certainly wouldn't want the government to put the thumb on the scales for independent workers overall. But instead, it's just creating a parody, creating equal treatment for both independent workers and traditional workers.
