The Effect of Childhood Sexual Abuse on the Brain
Lyle Menendez admitted in trial number one on the witness stand to abusing his brother Eric when he was younger. A psychiatrist testified in Open Court that he believed the brothers were abused and that it affected them greatly. The traumatic experiences of childhood sexual abuse can ultimately impair the psychological functioning of the victim at the time the abuse is happening and well into adulthood.
