The Effects of Emotional Display Rules on Social Receivers
Emotional display rules are very strongly transmitted and enforced. If men or women contravene in these actions, they tend to be fairly strong negative reactions from social receivers. There is likely to be an effective direct emulation of parents' behavior. Parents seem to be more responsive to boys' disharmonies' emotions than girls'.
