Why Did He Not Apply the Brakes?

Ean Ash was arrested in hospital on suspicion of the murder of his wife Sally. Detectives were puzzled as to why ean had not applied the brakes at any time. The conditions that evening were excellent, with no rain or wind and a bend which could have been taken safely by an average driver doing 70mph.
