The Evolution of Plants - Plasticity
During droughts, when water levels are low, plants take forms that allow them to survive on land. If thir's a year with lots of rainfall and a lake covers those plants, they develop into another form that allows them to survive better under water. But what if some one builds a dam and permanently floods the area where the plants live? The plant is already pre adapted to eather one of these t environments,. because it's already capable of living in thosei those environments.
