The Mystery of the Neutrino Telescope

After 169,998 years, totally by chance, Japan has got this big tank of water deep underground which is now a neutrino telescope beginning to work. At breakfast time, in English time, through my cornflakes and you, passed this little wave of neutrinos from that supernova also swept through the tanks there. And about a couple of dozen of these neutrinos bumped into atoms of water in the tanks and revealed themselves.
