Long fasts may not be a good idea, but most people aren't superlean. I've done as long as twenty one day fasting three different times. Certainly never had issues you obviously have the waves of hunger and e things like that, but didn't have issues of loose in muscle. But i do agree with ted, you do have to have a certain amount of body fat on you. Most people have a monicum of fat on their bodies, so you will have an energy source to tap into....
