Electrification of cement kills reduces on-site CO2 emissions by around half. Schneider Electric estimates that switching from fossil fuel to electric melting at the start of the glass making process could deliver as much as a 35% efficiency boost. Additive manufacturing will also unlock dramatic efficiency improvements through the elimination of waste, normal grinding, milling and re-melting of waste swarf.
