The Plebicite Passes Marius to Command the War With Mithridates
With sulla gone, marius makes his move. He has sulpicius propose a law moving the command of the war with mithridates from sulla to marius. Many elder statesmen in the senate still disapproved of that incident with getting the war with eugurtha reassigned. This was crossing a much harder line and insulting a much more energetic man. So he thinks. And at rome, sulpicius law passes in a plebacite.
