I'm kind of fascinated by stephen snyder and his translations of her work, as i understand it. He is the only translator of her work into english. And there's a melding of voices here that iv found mesmerizing. She goes to some really powerful psychological states without naming specific historical moments. I wouldn't say it's japanese specifically. This i don't know. There's no real li particularities of a place or something. That's not what she's doing.
