The Beauty of Selection

Despite all the wonderful aspects of searching through electronic data base, i still have not seen anything that brings that virtue of serendipitous discovery. The card catalogue has the advantage of having things aline that are different than the bookshelf does. Now electronically, amazon and barnes noble and other stores, they're always trying come up with ways to present you with things that are similar. It's this kind of selection function that is, you know, at the forefront of what search engines are doing.
