The Importance of Intellect in the Old Medieval Model

In the old cosmology, angels were rational beings. They didn't grow or change like human beings do. And so according to this old medieval model, the angels were pure intellectus. But they could perceive things face to face whereas human beings could only perceive things through a veil. We had to work at it, thus the ratio.
