New Jersey granted Orsted tax credits to cover any rising costs of the projects. Those tax credits were originally set to be used to offset any higher electricity prices from the cost of the project. In other words, a last minute swap may give some taxpayer money from New Jersey to a company based in Denmark instead of to those New Jersey homeowners.
