The last day of the cuban missile crisis, sunday, october 20 eighth. Ambassador to nato was sent a cable telling him to inform our nativ allies that time is growing shorter. New surveillance photos showed that soviet technicians had completed work on all 24 of the medium range ballistic missile sites we knew about in cuba. So this was notification to our allies that military action against cuba might begin at any time.
