The Importance of Inner Voice

Scientists say inner voice is our ability to silently use language to think about some aspect of our lives. It's like a Swiss army knife of the human mind, it lets you do all these different things. When we are experiencing intense stress or just regular old stress, we often reflexively try to reach for it. We engage inner voice, but rather than coming up with very clean stories or encouraging sources of advice that help us persevere, we end up just looping.
